How Everyday Kindness Shapes Child Development

Educator warmly engaging with a young child

A short note from the Raising HumanKind team.

Where research meets everyday life

At Raising HumanKind, we believe the science of child development is most powerful when it lives outside the lab — in classrooms, kitchens, playgrounds, and bedtime conversations. Our work translates research on emotion regulation, empathy, and resilience into resources that families, educators, and practitioners can actually use.

A spotlight on resilience

The latest issue of our magazine — pip o. Gazette: Resilience — brings together voices from researchers, practitioners, and caregivers on what it looks like to nurture resilience in children. From the small everyday moments to the larger structural questions, the issue offers a wide view of how resilience is built and supported. You can read it online or request a copy from our Resources page.

What’s coming up

We are preparing for our next community gathering, working through outcomes from recent training pilots, and continuing the conversations sparked at our community events. There is more to share in the months ahead. If you would like to be part of what’s next, please stay in touch — we’d love to hear from you.
